Located in a hard to find spot in Genoa Township is this burial ground behind the Woodlands golf course. It is on Section 13 on the path of Hyne Road which is cut off for vehicular traffic. It is directly North of the Birkenstock Schoolhouse.

This is another of the oldest cemeteries in the county having been started in 1833 originally across the road in Brighton Township. The land there was owned by the Kelly family and thus the name. At the time the Howell Bicentennial History was written there were no stones visible for the Kelly family, but they may have been destroyed.

Because of lack of care the dozen gravestones that were visible in the 1930's are all down now, either broken or cracked or covered by the heavy thicket of grapevines and myrtle.

In the 1940's, the DAR came through the county and transcribed many cemeteries into three volumes with separate indexes. The indexes were put into one which I used as the basis for the brand new table which not only shows the interred but the actual cemetery names which are linked to individual pages.
