Located in Section 35 of Green Oak Township this cemetery is right on Eight Mile Road a little east of Rushton Road. The would be considered a medium sized cemetery and many of the stones are still legible, but many of the graves are also unmarked.

The cemetery was plotted next to the church as early as 1850. The church prospered until 1918 when a neighbor started a grass fire and the building burned down losing everything except for a few pieces of furniture. The cemetery lasted until 1922 and then was disbanded. When I was there filming several months ago I noted many unusual stones which were obviously specially made for various family members.

In the 1940's when the DAR went through the county and transcribed rural cemeteries this cemetery was included in Volume II of three books.  The three were compiled  into one alphabetical index that was the basis of the brand new table format which not only shows those interred but the cemetery names which are linked to these individual cemetery pages.
