Griswold cemetery, also known as Smith cemetery is located in Section 8 of Hartland Township on the East side of Cullen Road about a half of a mile south of Clyde Rd.
When I was filming there a few weeks ago, I routinely walked the cemetery and looking down for any signs of grown over grass on top of fallen stones and I saw a little 3 inch opening of white stone, so I began to tug at the grass over the stone and shortly I had a 5 foot by 2 foot stone of the founder of the cemetery from the 1800's.
Griswold was also one of the cemeteries included in the DAR transcriptions of rural cemeteries in Livingston County in the 1940's. The three volumes with their indexes were compiled into a single alphabetical one and I used that and other information for the brand new table format which not only shows those interred but the actual cemetery names which are linked to these individual cemetery pages.
