Marion Township shows this cemetery to be located in the West half of the SW 1/4 of Section 19. It is located on Pingree Rd. near Vines Rd.
One of the older cemeteries in the county, it was platted in April of 1842.
There are few remaining spaces in this cemetery as the decision was made early on that the cemetery was there for the people of the area and there would be no charges incurred for any burial plots. I only saw a few spots left when I filmed this cemetery several months ago. These images should be uploaded by the winter of 1999-2000.
The cemetery property was originally owned by a Joseph WALKER and he sold it to the GREEN family and thus the name was born.
Another of the cemeteries that was transcribed in the 1940's by the DAR was this one and to help make it easier to find names the indexes from those transcriptions were put into one index which I started with and then added additional information of the actual cemetery names which are linked to these individual cemetery pages.
