This atlas was originally printed and copy written in 1895 by the Rand McNally Corporation, called: "The New 11 x 14 Atlas of the World" Although it contained maps of the countries of the world and the individual states of the United States at that time, it only contained an index for the United States. I have begun to scan the world maps which will eventually be placed as a link on the atlas. There are no indexes for the towns in the world portion, but perhaps the maps will help people.
I would ask also that you please remember
that ALL of the maps on any of my sites are covered under my COPYRIGHT.
I have spent thousands of hours enhancing, cleaning up etc. to make them
easier for you to use. Please have the courtesy the request use of the
maps before arbitrarily taking them for your site, publication etc.
Normally I allow most individuals to either use them in exchange for a
credit line or a donation to
www.USGenNet.org . Sadly I have found that some just assume that if
they find it on the net it is free for their taking. :(((

Mardos Memorial On Line Library
If you would like to read books from the same time period as the 1895 atlas, I and a few friends have added dozens of books that were originally printed between about 1850 to the early 20th century, and in most cases have added all name indexes. We did this because in the original printings only the very important people were listed in any index in each book which will aid in your research capabilities.
